  • How does the remote connection service work?

    This connection works trough the platform of RCS (Remote Connect System) of Opticonnect.

  • Which devices or operating systems do you support?

    Every device that has a serial connection is supported.

  • Is the connection secure?

    Yes, the connection is secure since we are using a secure tunnel protocol for connecting to the remote device.

  • What types of problems can be solved via remote connection?

    Everything that you normally do local on the device, can now be done through the remote connection.

  • What are the requirements to use the service?

    You need an active subscription for the product to use the equipment and management services.
    There should also be coverage of a LTE network provider

  • How can I start a remote session?

  • Will my data and files be protected during the session?

    Since this is a serial remote connection there are no files used.

  • What will happen if the connection is lost during the session?

    If the connection is lost during the session, you can just start the session again and resume where you got disconnected.

  • Are there any restrictions on the number of sessions I can start?

    No, there are no restrictions on the number of sessions that you can start at once.

  • Can I use the remote connection service on mobile devices (such as smartphones and tablets)?

    Yes this is possible, but it is not something we recommend.
    This is because of the lack of missing a normal keyboard and mouse for navigation and typing commands.

  • Are there any specific software or apps I need to install to connect via remote connection?

    No, you don’t need to install any additional software.
    Everything works trough the cloud and a web browser of your choice.

  • What about the speed and quality of the connection?

    There is only an requirement to have a internet connection, and a web browser of your choice.

  • Can multiple people connect to the same device at the same time via remote connection?

    Yes, it is possible. But It is not recommended.

  • How long does it usually take to set up a remote session?

    To setup a remote session, it takes between 10-30 seconds.

  • What if I experience technical problems when setting up the connection?

  • Do you offer support in addition to the remote session? If so, in what way?

    It’s possible to get additional support for your team, please contact your account manager

  • Is it possible to record the remote session or take screenshots for reference?

    Yes, this is possible. You can use any kind of recording/screenshot software of your choice to record the process or to take screenshots.

  • Are there specific network requirements to use the remote connection service?

    No, there are no specific network requirements needed to use the remote connection service.
